You can register to vote on November 4 (and every election day thereafter) if:
- You are a United States citizen;
- You'll be 18 years old by then;
- You will have lived at your present address since October 10;
- You are not in jail or on parole for a felony conviction and;
- You don't claim the right to vote elsewhere.
How to register:
- Up through October 10, you can register in person at the Westchester County Board of Elections at 25 Quarropas Street in White Plains. Hours are 8:45 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. The phone number is (914) 995-5700.
- You can call the State's 1-800-FOR-VOTE hotline to request a voter application. Or, call the County at (914) 995-5700.
- You can download a PDF version of the New York State Voter Registration Form. Print the form, complete and sign it, and mail it to the Westchester County Board of Elections, 25 Quarropas Street, White Plains, New York 10601. Make sure it's postmarked by October 10.
Remember to re-register if your address changes. You have until October 10 if your move is from one community in Westchester to another.
Need to vote by absentee ballot?
- You'll need to send in your absentee ballot application by October 28 or apply in person by November 3. The ballot itself must be postmarked by November 3 or hand delivered by November 3.
