Assemblywoman Amy Paulin Honored By the Westchester Library System
Assemblywoman Amy Paulin is receiving the National Library Week Recognition Award for her outstanding contributions to literacy and support of the Westchester Library System.
“Libraries improve our quality of life tremendously,” said Assemblywoman Amy Paulin. “All members of our communities, from young children to senior citizens, rely on our libraries not only for information and resources, but for personal growth, enjoyment, and a sense of belonging.”
The award will be presented at the Westchester Library System’s 17th annual Book & Author Luncheon on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor, NY.
“Since Assemblywoman Paulin has become chair of our State’s library committee last year there has been unprecedented increase in aid for libraries and library systems in New York State,” said Siobhan A. Reardon, Director of the Westchester Library System. “We are tremendously lucky to have her represent our communities and we look forward to continuing to work with her to support and improve our libraries.”
The event is being held to celebrate National Library Week. The luncheon is from 12:00pm – 2:00pm with registration beginning at 11:00am. Ticket prices for the Book & Author Luncheon are $100 for general admission and $150 for a Library Friend, which includes a journal listing and special invitation to an author reception at 11:15am. The luncheon will be followed by an author signing of four talented authors, Susan Choi, Andrew Gross, Dee Dee Myers, and Josh Swiller, who will discuss their newly published books. This year’s event will be emceed by Ernie Anastos, anchor of the Fox 5 News and author of the children’s book, Ernie & The Big News.
