Assemblywoman Paulin Honored by Jewish War Veterans

Assemblywoman Amy Paulin (D-Scarsdale) was honored on Saturday, June 13, by the Jewish War Veterans of the USA Department of New York for her hard work protecting New York’s veterans. The group’s Legislative Committee Chair, Jerry Alperstein, commended the Assemblywoman for her efforts, stating, “as a veteran myself, I think that all of us who fought to protect our country should feel very confident knowing that Assemblywoman Paulin is fighting for us in Albany.”

Paulin is currently the sponsor of two bills on the Jewish War Veterans legislative agenda which would offer well-deserved benefits to more of New York’s honorable veterans. More specifically, these bills would:

  • Increase property tax exemptions for Cold War veterans who stood at the ready when combat seemed imminent, bringing their exemptions in line with those offered to other veterans (A7422).
  • Extend the military service pension buyback for state and municipal workers to more of the state’s veterans (A6663).

“I believe we owe a tremendous debt to our country’s veterans, who put their lives on the line to ensure our safety and protect the freedoms we all enjoy,” said Paulin. “I am prroud to be honored by the Jewish War Veterans and I will continue to work as hard as I can to look after those who defended our country.”
