Assemblywoman Amy Paulin Secures $50,000 for Eastchester Community Action Program
Assemblywoman Amy Paulin is pleased to announce that she has secured $50,000 in capital funding for the Westchester Community Opportunity Program. These funds are to be used for the renovation and repair of the Eastchester Community Action Program (ECAP) building in Tuckahoe.
The ECAP building is host to numerous activities, including after school homework help and summer programs for children who would have no other place to spend idle hours, a food pantry for those in the community who need it most, and numerous activities for seniors. Over the years, both the internal and external structures of the building have become dilapidated, limiting its use and making it an eyesore on Tuckahoe’s Main Street.
“This grant is like manna from heaven” stated ECAP board members Jeff Zuckerman and Clare Gorman. “Now we can proceed with knowledge that the children and adults who depend so greatly on this superb community resource will enter a building that exudes dignity,” they added.
“ECAP has proven to be a valuable resource for Eastchester’s underprivileged communities” Assemblywoman Paulin said. “It was an honor for me to help them secure this grant so they can continue their very important work.”
