Pharmacists Can Now Give Vaccinations
[The Journal News]
Gov. David Paterson signed legislation to let pharmacists administer flu and pneumonia shots to adults. The legislation was introduced by Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, D-Scarsdale, and aims at boosting the number of people getting vaccinated statewide. New York was one of only two states that did not allow pharmacists to administer such shots. "Arming pharmacists with vaccines is part of progressive 21st-century health care," Paulin said.
